TRUE NATURE. TRUE SELF.
An opportunity to explore the world around and within you, connecting to your truest self.

DATES + THEMES

  • March 6: True Nature. True Self. Connection.
Have you been thinking about the heart of your matters, feeling disconnected or wanting to dig more deeply into what makes you uniquely, intrinsically, you? Answers to those considerations can open the doors to a more fulfilling life and relationship with self.

The True Nature. True Self Retreat. guides you on the path of inquiry, discovery, knowingness and re-connection with your authentic inner self. Think of it as nurturing and growing your tap root, which holds power and energy to support the whole.

This retreat combines the practices of Life Coaching and Shinrin-Yoku (Forest Bathing), which in tandem provide a rich and fertile opportunity to connect to your truest self, the essence of who you are -- your true, deep nature.

The rules: Make friends with a tree (yes, for real), or heck, the whole forest. Taproots and tapping in.

  • May 22: Creativity + Play
"Don't hesitate. If you suddenly and unexpectedly feel joy, don’t hesitate. Give in to it." - Mary Oliver, poet

Joy - that’s the felt sense this session focuses on. Letting go of inhibitions - that thing we learn to do after childhood; the confining definitions of ourselves, whether assigned by us or others; and the confinements where our true selves dwell.

All those things that hold you down and hold back the true you, yep, we’re going to leave that s- - - in the woods. Nature helps us find freedom, and delight. It softens our stress and anxiety, cleverly distracts us with patterns, beauty, surprise and wonder, drawing us in, helping us find lightness. There is no perfection, no judgment in Nature. There is only you giving into joy, being alive in it.

Forest bathing and life coaching prompts invite you to open and explore your creativity, and unleash your inner child - that true self who just wants to come out and play.

The rules: Surrender. Give yourself a break. No adulting allowed.

  • Sept 18: Intuition + Inner Voice
Do you notice how much noise passes through your soundscape every minute, hour, day? Probably not! We hear things - so.many.things. - without really listening to or exploring them. Or they are so lost in the cacophony that we’ve tuned them all out. Leaning into the practice of Shinrin-Yoku ensures we go silently, slowly and sometimes remain still enough to perceive and cultivate deep listening skills that will help you perceive there is something to be heard. Perhaps it’s that seemingly small inner voice speaking up, you know, the one you don’t pay enough attention to, to actually trust it.

Forest bathing and life coaching prompts help you tune into that voice, as well as the felt sense and experience of it, and find patterns and meaning in what it tells you. Wandering – and wondering – and connection to inner self tap into and honor the knowingness, already there, that we just don’t allow ourselves to hear, let alone believe in.

The rules: Trust your gut. This is for the curious.

  • Oct 23: Carry It Forward
Sometimes you have to look back, to see how far you’ve come. Yeah, a lot of people say this. And you know, it’s true, you do.

Nature holds and reflects back to us so many things about ourselves, including where we were, where we are now, and where we could head.

Forest bathing and life coaching prompts support you as you create a map to reflect upon and continue forward, exploring possibilities.

The rules: Have no fear. Be ready to receive. Did someone say gifts?
